This is a life recreation of the new fossil specimen discovered recently in Wyoming. Using what palaeontologists think was the habitat for this animal, river wetlands, we’ve brought it to life.
Artist's Notes
I’ve been waiting to incorporate dinosaurs into my work for a while. So I thought this collection would provide an ideal opportunity. I thought carefully about when D. carnegii was discovered and how the date would fit into the Victorian story.
The only thing I decided to go against was its pose. At the time the head and tail were thought to be placed on the floor, or close to it, but I’ve gone for a more modern pose.
