Society of the Silent Wing
Introduction
Founded in 1803, the Society of the Silent Wing exists to document and record disputed species. Creatures whose place in this world is unsettled and uncertain. Sightings which have been ignored or even ridiculed are taken seriously here.
Our name comes from the Nightjar. A bird who’s flight is so quiet and it’s call so haunting that it was once mistaken for the wandering souls of the unbaptised. A fitting patron for an institution designed to be a friend to the lost and unresolved.
